Blackthorn, drypoint, 16 x 16cm

This illuminated grove of blackthorn was glimpsed from the train to Stansted Airport. It was in flower with the early morning sun behind it. A drypoint is scratched into the copper with sharp tools, raising a burr of displaced metal, which gives the drypoint line its slightly furry appearance.
